7th & 8th Grade Discovery Retreat

This outing is for ALL 7th & 8th Grade students during the 2012-2013 school year. This is a fun and spiritually charged weekend in which the youth work together to problem solve, study scripture, learn about each other and learn about God! We get to play on the Low-Ropes course at the Bridgeport Camp as well as visit a Wildlife Sanctuary where the youth get to see lions, tigers and bears... Oh My (I know ya'll were thinking it too!). I will need at least 2 Adult Female Leaders and 1 Adult Male Leader to join me for this retreat! Please let Chris Boyle know ASAP if you would like to go and Share the Love of Christ with out younger youth!!

CUMC Trunk-or-Treat is October 28

This will be CUMC's 2nd Trunk-or-Treat event! I am going to be expecting a large turnout from our youth and youth families as we begin to make this thing happen. Each Christ FOCUS class will have a trunk to decorate and in addition to that the youth will be facilitating a small game area as well! Make sure this is on your calendars please!

The teen years have quite a reputation for being rough and tough on families. Not-quite-young-adults want freedom and independence, while their parents want safety and peace of mind. When these desires conflict again, and again, and again, it's easy for parents and teens to forget that God uses families (even at their absolute worst) to bring out the best in HIS children!
