United Methodist Women

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Over one million women have chosen to be members of a special organization with a specific purpose.

	UMW Activities
	Board members Laurie Lewis, Treon Kirby, Elizabeth Nelson, Paula Bouas, Diana Lea, Barby Matous and Soila Escamilla making plans for 2012- 2013 . SUNLIGHT CIRCLE: Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday morning of each month at 11:30 in the Tri-room in the Family Life Center from September to May. These ladies share a salad lunch, a devotional, and fellowship. so bring you favorite salad and come enjoy this time together. Cathy Fettke is chairperson. 972-247-6398 STARLIGHT CIRCLE: Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., September through May. Check the calendar for specific dates. These ladies have a program, fellowship and refreshments. They meet in the reception room. Diana Lea is chairperson. 972-241-9676 CANDLELIGHT CIRCLE: Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday evening every month at 6:30 p.m.. The meeting location changes between Mimi's Cafe and the tri-room. We enjoy dinner, a devotional and a different mission project monthly. This is the most diverse age group...from 25 years to 60 years or so. Check the calendar for the specific meeting place and mission of the month. Barby Matous and Laurie Lewis are co-chairpersons. 972-394-1225 and 972-393-1018. New policy: for tri-room meetings bring your own meal and eat together and work on mission of the month. We want to meet the needs of more women of CUMC and the community. Come be a part of women whose purpose is to help women and children both near and far. About UMW

Touching the lives of women and children across the globe.... that has always been a goal of United Methodist Women. Are you a member? Our UMW unit continues to support the goals of UMW global ministries with our sisters around the world. When we combine our pledges and fundraising efforts with thousands of other christian ladies, we can and do make a difference. We also improve lives right here in Dallas county by supporting Wesley Rankin Community Center and more.

We have a lot to offer women of Christ United Methodist and our neighbors too. We currently have scrapbooking, , book club and more. You don't have to be a member to attend these classes, just check out our calendar and come and join us.

One of our goals as United Methodist Women is to be a Mission Today Unit. For more information about these goals visit Mission Today.

Another goal is to participate in the Reading Program. For information about this program visit UMW Reading Program. Our UMW has a lot of the recommended books.
