Program: Following his corporate success as Vice President, Human Resources with GTE, David co-founded the Career Solutions ministry, for the purpose of helping men and women in career transition. His Job Seeker Workshops are now being offered weekly at churches in Euless, Dallas, Carrollton, Fort Worth, Allen, Lewisville, and Keller, TX. If you know someone who is unemployed, underemployed or unhappily employed, this program will give them ideas and hope from a secular and biblical perspective.
Dinner: Beef stew
Roy Williams - Sharing the Power
Program: What do the 1965 Voting Rights Act, reapportionment battles at the state and local level, lawsuits against city governments, and the new voter ID law passed in Texas have in common? Join us in welcoming Roy Williams, a local civil rights activist and co-author of the 14-1 plan to divide Dallas into single member districts passed in 1990. He will share his insights and experiences on giving a political voice to minorities and why there is so much disagreement on redistricting maps in the news.
Dinner: Enchiladas
Rev. Bob Spencer - The Wit and Wisdom of Mark Twain
"A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval."
"Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest."
"An Englishman is a person who does things because they have been done before. An American is a person who does things because they haven't been done before." Mark Twain
Join us for a very special evening with Bob as he gives us a presentation on the words of Mark Twain. I predict it will be a night full of laughter and stories we can share with everyone we know.
Dinner: Smoked sausage casserole with black eyed peas
