Acolyte
Program
Children
from third through fifth grade may choose to participate in our
acolyte program. During both 9:00 am and 10:15 am Sunday celebrations
of worship, acolytes carry the flame into the sanctuary to light
candles and then take the flame from the sanctuary after services
symbolizing our Christian mission of taking the light of Christ
into the world. A training program is offered each fall and spring,
and acolytes serve on a rotating basis.
Our
acolytes along with the rest of the worship team, help us worship
God. They bring in the light to remind us that God is in this place,
and then taking the light out into the world to remind us that God
is with us no matter where we are. Our acolytes give of their time
each Sunday at the 9:00am and 10:15am worship services to carry
in the “Light of God”.
On
April 30th we will start both our 9:00 and 10:15 worship services
with an acolyte processional. The acolytes will receive a recognition
pin at the 10:15 service, and afterwards there will be a pizza and
ice cream sundae luncheon for the acolytes and their immediate families.
