United Methodist Women
Our retreat was truly a blessed event! A special thanks goes out to Kathy Guier who led our spiritual time. We explored our understanding and relationship with God the father, son and Holy Spirit.
We prayed, walked, puzzled, crafted, visited and just enjoyed being together as Christian women.
Our nominations committee will be looking for
women to serve on our 2020-21 board. If you are
interested in serving this organization please
contact Denise Wallace or Teresa Webster.
Our March book is:
Fly Girls – How five Daring Women Defied All Odds and Made Aviation History by Keith O’Brien
April: plan crafts
May: crafts for our CUMC kids
June: VBS help/donation
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Over one million women have chosen to be members of a special organization with a specific purpose.
Fly Girls weaves together the stories of five remarkable women: Florence Klingensmith, a high school dropout from Fargo, North Dakota; Ruth Elder, an Alabama divorcée; Amelia Earhart, the most famous, but not necessarily the most skilled; Ruth Nichols, who chafed at her blue blood family’s expectations; and Louise Thaden, the young mother of two who got her start selling coal in Wichita. Together, they fought for the chance to fly and race airplanes—and in 1936, one of them would triumph, beating the men in the toughest air race of them all.
Women United in Christ
All women of CUMC and their friends are welcome and encouraged to participate in the activities of the group.
