The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Over one million women have chosen to be members of a special organization with a specific purpose.
Our Mission:
To support missions for women and children around the globe and locally with our pledges.
Support the women of CUMC with activities and fellowship.
Provide a college scholarship(s) for a young lady of CUMC.
Encourage growth as Christians through our fellowship and serving others.
So far this fiscal year(started in September), our UMW has supported the North Texas Conference UMW local missions project. They provided 300 food boxes for Dallas Bethlehem Center , we contributed $100.
The Candlelight Circle made 16 Build a Bears for
Methodist Children's Home for Christmas.
We also donated our $200 retreat deposit for 2020 to Camp Copass to help them with their expenses during Covid.
Our money comes from pledges, donations and fundraisers.
Thanks to those who have sent pledge money or donations this year!! Pledges can be sent to church and marked for UMW or mailed to Barby Matous or Buff Schmid.

We invite you to participate in our book club via zoom at either 10AM or 6:30pm

Our February book is When Others Shuddered...

When Others Shuddered: Eight Women Who Refused to Give Up is the story of eight women called to serve God and who, in doing so, changed the world. They lived at the turn of the century, rubbing shoulders with the well-known men of their time, like John Rockefeller, Marshall Field, and Dwight Lyman Moody.
Opportunities for Involvement!
